CARLISLE NAMES BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS 

(Fri., Feb. 4, 2011)—Mayor Peter Carlisle has made the following nominations to various City boards and commissions:

  • Roy Benham, to the Commission on Culture and the Arts. He is a retiree and former Office of Hawaiian Affairs trustee who has served a previous term on the Commission on Culture and the Arts.
  • Sara Buehler, to the Salary Commission. She is an attorney and consultant.
  • Denise Mahealani Cypher De Costa, to the Board of Water Supply. She is a former Honolulu City Clerk and president-elect of the Oahu Council, Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs.
  • Wesley F. Fong, to the Liquor Commission. He is an attorney and real estate broker.
  • Quentin Kawananakoa, to the Fire Commission. He is an attorney who served a previous term on the Fire Commission.
  • Michael Lilly, to the Ethics Commission. He is an attorney and adjunct professor at Hawaii Pacific University.
  • Jeffrey Portnoy, to the Ethics Commission. He is an attorney who served as chairman of the Neighborhood Commission.
  • Max Sword, to the Police Commission. He is an executive with Outrigger Hotels who has served a previous term on the Police Commission.
  • Ronald I. Taketa, to the Police Commission. He is a union representative for the Hawaii Carpenters Union who served a previous term on the Police Commission.
  • Arthur Wong, to the Salary Commission. He is a real estate agent.
