TRANSFER STATIONS CLOSED TO NON-PROFITS, COMMERCIAL LOADS

(Mon., Jan. 31, 2011) – The City's Department of Environmental Services is closing access at two of its three transfer stations to commercial trucks, charitable and non-profit organizations, and churches.

Due to a heavy backlog of trash at Kapaa and Keehi transfer stations, no waste will be accepted from commercial haulers and these groups for the remainder of the week.

Kawailoa Transfer Station remains open to all.  Homeowners will still be able to dispose of household waste at all three of these facilities.
