EARTH MONTH CLEANUPS THIS WEEK

 

KAPOLEI, HI – The City's Storm Water Quality Branch of the Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is holding cleanups April 4 and 5 in Mapunapuna and the Pearl Harbor Bike Path, respectively.

 

On Friday, volunteers for the Mapunapuna cleanup should check-in by 8:30 a.m. at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company to cleanup debris along Mapunapuna Street.  The cleanup begins at 9:00 a.m. and last three hours.

 

The Saturday cleanup of the Pearl Harbor Bike Path begins at 8:00 a.m. and asks volunteers to check-in by 7:30 a.m. at either the Neal Blaisdell Park or the HPD Academy on Waipahu Depot Road.  The cleanup lasts three hours.

 

ENV partners with businesses, schools, public officials, the state and military organizations.  The cleanups will provide educational materials on reducing trash.

           

Participants should be 12 years old or older, dressed to get dirty, and bring the following:  water, hat, old covered shoes and sunscreen.  All participants must sign a release form to participate.
