MAYOR CARLISLE BREAKS GROUND ON NEW CITY PARK

(Thurs., Aug. 2, 2012)—Mayor Peter Carlisle today joined City parks officials and developer Haseko to break ground on the new 18.75-acre Ewa Beach District Park, at Keoneula Boulevard and Fort Weaver Road.

"This new City park will provide great recreational opportunities for everyone to enjoy," Carlisle said. "It will be an important asset for the entire community."

Through a public-private partnership, Haseko will construct basketball and volleyball courts, a ball field comfort station, parking and other improvements worth approximately $5 million. The park is expected to open in August of 2013.
