WET WEATHER CAUSES OVERFLOW ON MIKIOLA DRIVE

(Fri., March 9, 2012) – The City's Department of Environmental Services responded this morning to a sanitary sewer overflows in Kaneohe.

The call was received at 7:45 a.m. regarding an overflowing at 44-217 Mikiola Drive.  ENV crews secured the site at 8:30 a.m.  Heavy rains and storm water inundated the collection system causing 2,250 gallons of untreated wastewater out a manhole and into a canal that leads to Kaneohe Bay.

ENV notified the state Department of Health.  Signing is underway and water sampling will begin once storm ends.
