Lunalilo Terrace, Pearl Harbor Bike Path, Chinatown Cleanups this Week

 

HONOLULU – The Department of Environmental Services (ENV) Storm Water Quality Branch is conducting three cleanups this week at the Lunalilo Terrace Ditch, Pearl Harbor Bike Path, and Chinatown as part of Make-A-Difference Month.

 

      Malama Maunalua is coordinating the Lunalilo Terrace Ditch cleanup Wed., Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, volunteers should call 395-5050.

 

      The annual Pearl Harbor Bike Patch cleanup is Sat., Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Volunteers should meet at the Pearl Harbor bike path behind Pearl Kai.

 

      A Chinatown cleanup is slated for Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon.  The event is coordinated by the Art Districts Merchants Association.  Contact Sandra Pohl at 521-1812 for more information on how to get involved.

 

      ENV partners with businesses, schools, public officials, the state and military organizations.  The cleanups provide educational materials on reducing trash.

     

      Participants should dress to get dirty and bring the following:  water, hat, old covered shoes and sunscreen.  All participants must sign a release form to participate.
