| Thursday, September 18, 2014 Contact: Adam LeFebvre (808) 768-4023 TheHandi-Van to begin Real Time Scheduling on October 16 Honolulu — On October 16, 2014, TheHandi-Van will introduce a more convenient way for riders to schedule trips. Instead of being limited to "on-the-hour" scheduling choices, riders will now be able to request a more exact pick-up time, such as 9:20 or 10:45. Real Time Scheduling takes full advantage of TheHandi-Van's computer scheduling system and assigns a vehicle to the requested trip while the caller is on the phone. This will allow the vans to be used more efficiently and is expected to result in more timely service. Regular riders of TheHandi-Van will receive information about this change in the mail. Further information is available by calling 456-5555, Option 8.
