| Thursday, February 20, 2014 Contact: Jesse Broder Van Dyke, 768-6928 ***Tomorrow*** Mayor Caldwell, Councilmember Harimoto to join Aiea Intermediate students revitalizing Pearl Harbor Bike Path AIEA – Mayor Kirk Caldwell and Councilmember Breene Harimoto will join Aiea Intermediate School students working to clean and invigorate the Pearl Harbor Bike Path in Aiea as part of a civics lesson in the U.S. History class of teacher Mason Fitch. Mayor Caldwell and Councilmember Harimoto will address the students at Neal Blaisdell Park, 98-319 Kamehameha Hwy in Aiea, at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, February 21, 2014. Numerous city departments are participating in the project. Representatives from the city's Department of Environmental Services, Department of Facility Maintenance, Board of Water Supply, Honolulu Police Department, Department of Community Services, Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Mayor's Office of Housing are educating the students about their agencies' responsibilities and services and participating in the service project to cleanup of the Pearl Harbor Bike Path. The Aiea Intermediate students' lesson and project began this morning and concludes tomorrow at noon along the bike path and at Neal Blaisdell Park. Teacher Mason Fitch developed his curriculum entitled, "Our Community, Our Responsibility: Why We Serve" with the following goals for his students:
