HONOLULU POLICE DEPARTMENT'S

168TH RECRUIT CLASS GRADUATION

 

(Thu., Aug. 11, 2011)—The Honolulu Police Department's (HPD) 168th Recruit Class will graduate on Tuesday, August 16, 2011.  The ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. at the Hawaii Okinawa Center located at 94-587 Ukee Street in Waipio.

 

            Police Chief Louis M. Kealoha will present awards for Highest Firearms Score, Best Athletic Ability, Class Scholar, Most Inspirational, and Outstanding Recruit.

 

            The 24 recruits have completed a rigorous six-month program at the HPD Training Academy, Ke Kula Makai, and will now begin working along side veteran officers in the Chinatown and Waikiki areas.  Members of the graduating class include a professional kick-boxer, a former U.S. Marine, two high school coaches, and a Miss Hawaii beauty pageant contestant.
