FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wednesday, December 24, 2014 Contact: Tory Laitila, 768-4105    Early January deadlines for art Request for Proposals Honolulu - The deadline to submit Request for Proposals (RFP) for art at the McCully-Mô'ili'ili Fire Station is January 7, 2015.  The deadline for art at the Mililani Mauka District Park is January 8, 2015. The City and County of Honolulu Commission on Culture and the Arts is seeking to commission works of art for the McCully-Mô'ili'ili Fire Station and Mililani Mauka District Park Comfort Station.  Both projects are open to all artists or artist teams qualified to work in the City and County of Honolulu.  The budget for each project is $10,000.00. The Request for Proposal can be downloaded at www.honolulu.gov/moca/news.htm.  Artists must apply online at www.CallForEntry.org .  For information about the projects, contact the Mayor's Office of Culture and the Arts at (808) 768-4105, or email tlaitila@honolulu.gov. Art in City Buildings, a program under the Honolulu Commission on Culture and the Arts, sets aside an amount equal to not less than one percent of the construction phase appropriation for the original construction of any City building for the acquisition of works of art. The Art in City Buildings program is managed by the Mayor's Office of Culture and the Arts. -END-
