Earth Month Cleanups in Kaimuki, Kailua This Saturday

 

KAPOLEI, HI – The City's Storm Water Quality Branch of the Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is holding cleanups this Saturday, May 3, in both Kaimuki and Kailua.

 

In Kaimuki, volunteers check in at 8:00 a.m. at the Harbor Church and will spend 90 minutes cleaning up debris in the area.

 

In Kailua, volunteers check in at 10:00 a.m. at the Huakailani School for Girls.  The cleanup will last one hour.

 

ENV partners with businesses, schools, public officials, the state and military organizations.  The cleanups will provide educational materials on reducing trash.

           

Participants should be 12 years old or older, dressed to get dirty, and bring the following:  water, hat, old covered shoes and sunscreen.  All participants must sign a release form to participate.
