| Thursday, January 31, 2014 Contact: Jesse Broder Van Dyke (808) 768-6928 Wahiawa District Park pool closed until further notice WAHIAWA – The Department of Parks and Recreation announced today that the public pool at the Wahiawâ District Park is closed temporarily due to malfunctioning equipment. City crews discovered this week that the pool pump had failed and attempted to repair it, but determined that they need replacement parts from the mainland in order to complete the fix. The department has ordered the parts and will reopen the pool as soon as the malfunctioning equipment is repaired. The department thanks pool users for their patience as they complete the emergency repairs. Normally, the pool is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for lap swim and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for free swim, and weekends from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for free swim. The pool is normally closed to the public on Fridays for swim team practice. -END- |
