MAYOR CARLISLE TO ATTEND MEETINGS IN CHINA AND WASHINGTON D.C.

 

(Mon., Sept. 10, 2012)—Mayor Peter Carlisle departed Honolulu today to attend a series of meetings in China and Washington, D.C.

 

Carlisle will attend the Chengdu 2012 China International Friendship Cities Conference this Wednesday and Thursday in Chengdu, one of Honolulu's 29 sister cities. He will also attend meetings in Zhangzhou and in Fengxian District, Shanghai, Honolulu's newest sister city.

 

The mayor will arrive in Washington, D.C. on Monday, September 17 for meetings with the Federal Transit Administration and others regarding Honolulu's rail transit project. He will be accompanied by Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation Chairwoman Carrie Okinaga, HART CEO and Executive Director Daniel Grabauskas, and City Council Chairman Ernest Martin.

 

Carlisle will return to Honolulu on Friday, September 21.
