Honolulu Police Department's 169th Recruit Class Graduates Tonight 

Twenty-six recruits who completed six months of training at the Honolulu Police Department's (HPD) Ke Kula Makai Training Academy will graduate on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, in a ceremony at the Hawaii Okinawa Center in Waipio.  The ceremony starts at 7 p.m.

Police Chief Louis M. Kealoha will present awards for Highest Firearms Score, Best Athletic Ability, Class Scholar, Most Inspirational, and Outstanding Recruit.

The graduates include 22 men and 4 women.  One recruit previously worked as an HPD radio dispatcher for ten years, and another visited multiple countries while on church missions.

After graduation, the new officers will be paired with veteran officers for an additional six months of field training.
