WAHIAWA SATELLITE CITY HALL WILL NO LONGER ISSUE CAMPING PERMITS IN 2012

(Wed., December 21, 2011)— The issuance of City camping permits will shift from Wahiawa Satellite City Hall to Kapolei Satellite City Hall after Friday, December 30, 2011, due to access and public safety concerns. City camping permits will also continue to be available from the Parks Permit Office in the Fasi Municipal Building. Both Kapolei Satellite City Hall and the Parks Permit Office will issue camping permits from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The City and County of Honolulu is working to automate the camping permit process and will offer online camping permits later in the new year.

Camping permits are issued free to the public and are required for any group or individual staying overnight at a designated City campsite. For more information on camping, call the Parks Permit Section at 768-3440 or go to their website: http://www1.honolulu.gov/parks/camping.htm.
