VOTING DEADLINE FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BOARDS EXTENDED ONE DAY

(Fri., May, 20, 2011)—Due to issues with the availability of the City and County website, the deadline for eligible voters to cast a vote in the 2011 Neighborhood Boards election has been extended to Saturday May 21, 2011 at 11:59 pm.

Eligible voters received passcodes in the mail and were directed to www.honolulu.gov/nco where they can be linked to the actual voting website, hosted by elections vendor Everyone Counts on an outside server. Although the Everyone Counts site has been fully available, from Thursday, May 19 in the evening to Friday, May 20 in the morning, the City website was experiencing accessibility difficulties.

The alternate method of voting by phone remained available.  In order to give everyone who attempted to vote during the period when the City website was unavailable the opportunity to cast their ballot, the voting period has been extended by one day. The phone method will also remain available for the additional 24-hour period.
