LANE CLOSURE ON KAILUA ROAD BETWEEN HAHANI ST. AND KUULEI RD. IN KAILUA

(Tuesday, March 15, 2011)Two Waimanalo-bound lanes on Kailua Road fronting the makai side entrance to Macy's in Kailua will be closed 24-hours, five consecutive days starting Monday, March 21, through Friday, March 25, due to roadway construction work.

Workers will be constructing a concrete bus pad at the existing bus stop on Kailua Road fronting Macy's.

To accommodate traffic on Kailua Road, the current Kaneohe-bound traffic lanes will be temporarily configured to handle two-way traffic, resulting in one lane on Kailua Road in each direction between Hinano Way and Hahani Street.  Police officers will be present at both the Hinano Way and Hahani Street intersections on Kailua Road during the working hours of this project.  Motorists are advised to use caution in this area and utilize alternative routes to Kailua Road during the construction period.

Bus patrons normally using this Kailua Road bus stop are asked to use the temporary bus stop located on Kailua Road, just before Hinano Way fronting the Whole Foods construction project. For more bus information, see www.thebus.org or call 848-5555.
