KALAKAUA AVENUE REHABILITATION PROJECT UNDERWAY (Tues., Feb. 15, 2011) — The City is resurfacing a portion of Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki this month, and motorists are advised to expect heavy traffic congestion in the area. The work is focused on Kalakaua Avenue from Ala Wai Boulevard to Saratoga Road. Repaving, manhole adjustments and road striping work will be performed Monday through Friday, except holidays, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during February. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to the area, such as Ala Moana Boulevard to Kalia Road; or Kapahulu Avenue to Ala Wai Boulevard and Kuhio Avenue.
