CITY FACILITIES CLOSING DUE TO FLASH FLOOD WARNING

(Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010)–Honolulu Hale will close today at 5:00 p.m. due to the Flash Flood Warning and heavy rains.  City Hall has been open daily during Honolulu City Lights for viewing of the courtyard of trees and gallery of wreaths.

          The Honolulu Zoo and municipal golf courses have already closed today. The West Loch and Ewa Villages golf courses will remain closed tomorrow. 

          The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Oahu until 3:15 p.m. but it may be extended through tonight.  Forecasters predict widespread rain, heavy showers and the risk of flash flooding.  All outdoor activities are discouraged at this time.  Residents should avoid non-essential travel, be aware of road closures and monitor TV and radio broadcasts during the warning period.
