FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                           October 13, 2010   KAPIOLANI PARK WATER SERVICE TO BE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED   (Wed., Oct. 13, 2010)—The Department of Parks and Recreation will temporarily interrupt water service to Kapiolani Regional Park on the afternoon of Thursday, October 14, 2010 so that necessary maintenance work can be completed.   Water service in the park will be interrupted at approximately 4:30 pm and will be restored at approximately 8:30 pm the same day.   All Kapiolani Park drinking fountains will be affected, along with the following restroom facilities:   ·       Old Driving Range; ·       Paki Hale; ·       Hale Lua; ·       Diamond Head Tennis Center; ·       Kapiolani Tennis Courts; ·       Bandstand Comfort Station.   Restroom facilities will remain open at Waikiki Playground, on the corner of Paki Avenue and Monsarrat Avenue; and at Kapiolani Beach Center, located makai of Kalakaua Avenue near the Kapiolani Tennis Courts.   The temporary interruption is required in order to service the main Backflow Pressure Unit serving the park's water system.   -30-   Contact: Kapiolani Regional Park Manager Edward Freitas, 971-2510.
