| Oahu Outdoor Warning Sirens to be tested today (Tuesday, October 5, 2010) --- The City Department of Facility Maintenance in conjunction with the Department of Emergency Management will be testing Outdoor Siren Warning Systems in the following areas on Oahu today from 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM. Nanakuli Beach Park 8:30 AM Maili Beach Park 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM Hanauma Bay 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM Makapu'u Beach Park 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Hauula Beach Park 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM The tests are being conducted to ensure that these sirens are operating at full power and providing optimal range. Residents and businesses in the surrounding communities may hear several 20-second siren soundings during the testing periods. Hawaii State Civil Defense funds the purchase and installation of these sirens.
