PUBLIC INVITED TO DOWNTOWN AND KALIHI TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS (Fri., October 21, 2011) The City Department of Planning and Permitting will hold community workshops in Downtown and Kalihi neighborhoods on the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) planning process. Land use and transportation plans are being prepared in anticipation of growth and change around the three Downtown (Downtown, Residents are invited to contribute to these plans for development and public space improvements surrounding the planned rail stations. Major issues, objectives, and preliminary improvements were identified through input received at the June kickoff workshops and recent surveys. The workshops will continue to build on public input regarding residential and commercial development, industrial and waterfront uses, park enhancements, and transportation improvements.
