FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                October 19, 2011   HALAWA COMPLEX HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST   (Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011) —The City's Halawa Complex staff will be presenting their 2011 Halawa Complex Halloween Costume Contest on Friday, October 28, 2011, at Halawa District Park.  About 100 children are anticipated to compete for prizes.             There will be five age groups: two years and under; three to four years; Kindergarten to first grade; second to third grade; and fourth to sixth grade.  Registration will be held from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., and costume judging will begin shortly thereafter.  Each contestant will receive a goodie bag and participate in the "Trick 'O Treat Lane."   The Halloween Costume Contest is presented each year by the employees and volunteers of the Department of Parks & Recreation's Halawa Complex, comprised of Fern Community Park, Halawa District Park, Moanalua Community Park and the Moanalua Pool.  For more information call 483-7852 or 483-7850.       -30-
