FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 13, 2011 EMERGENCY SHELTER OPENS ON (Thurs., Jan. 13, 2011) -- Leeward Coast residents, in need of shelter due to continued flooding, can go to the Waianae District Park Gymnasium, located at 85-601 Farrington Highway. Residents should be aware that this is a refuge shelter with limited supplies on hand. Residents wishing to stay at this shelter should bring additional supplies with them such as: · Blankets · Sleeping bags or additional warm blankets · Change of clothing · Toiletries · Food · Necessary medications · Additional care items for babies, young children and the elderly. This shelter will be managed and operated by the American Red Cross. Additional shelters may be opened if needed.
