02/13/15 Kapahulu Avenue road construction to begin Feb. 17 Friday, February 13, 2015 Mayor Caldwell's Press Office: 768-5768   Kapahulu Avenue road construction to begin Feb. 17  Honolulu – The installation of new concrete bus pads on Kapahulu Avenue will begin on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.  Twenty-four hour lane closures will be implemented in affected areas during construction.  The new bus pads will be installed in advance of repaving Kapahulu Avenue, which is anticipated to begin mid-March and will take place at night to minimize impact on traffic.  Motorists are reminded to observe and obey all traffic controls, posted signs, and special duty officers.  Drivers are encouraged to avoid Kapahulu Avenue, if possible, during the work.  Those who use Kapahulu Avenue can anticipate delays and allow extra travel time while driving through the work areas. -END-
