November 28 2014 Mayor Caldwell's Press Office: 768-5768     Food truck public meeting December 9th at Blaisdell Center   Honolulu – The Department of Transportation Services (DTS) and Department of Enterprise Services (DES) will hold a public meeting regarding on-street food truck stalls in the Hawai'i Capital Special District on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center, Hawai'i Suites.   Members of the public will be informed of the locations identified by DTS as appropriate for on-street food truck stalls within the Hawai'i Capital Special District.  DTS and DES will also explain the process to bid on a "mobile food unit parking stall," which is two adjacent standard-sized parking stalls combined to form a single stall double in length, at locations deemed appropriate by DTS.    Representatives from DES will be on hand to explain the city's concession process and both DTS and DES will field questions from the community.  This meeting and the forthcoming creation of the mobile food unit parking stalls is in accordance with Ordinance 14-5 (attached), passed by the Honolulu City Council on March 12, 2014.   -END-
