FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, October 6, 2014 Media Contact: Markus Owens, ENV Public Information Officer, 768-3454 Mapunapuna, Pupuole, Niu Valley and Kolomona Cleanups this Weekend HONOLULU The Department of Environmental Services (ENV) Storm Water Quality Branch is conducting four cleanups this weekend in Mapunapuna, Pupuole, Niu Valley and Kolomona, October 10-11, as part of Make-A-Difference Month. Coca Cola is coordinating the Mapunapuna Adopt-A-Block on Friday, Oct. 10, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Volunteers should contact John O'Dell at 839-6711 for more information. ENV is hosting the Pupuole Mini Park Cleanup Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Malama Maunalua is organizing the Niu Adopt-A-Stream cleanup Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9-11 a.m. Volunteers may contact the organization at 395-5050. The Kolomona cleanup is Oct. 11, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Volunteers wishing to participate should meet at 3202 E. Manoa Road. ENV partners with businesses, schools, public officials, the state and military organizations. The cleanups provide educational materials on reducing trash. Participants should dress to get dirty and bring the following: water, hat, old covered shoes and sunscreen. All participants must sign a release form to participate.
