WAIKIKI BULKY ITEMS REVISED, REFUSE FACILITY CLOSURES   (Thur., Nov. 10, 2011) – The City's Department of Environmental Services (ENV) will postpone bulky item collection this Saturday, November 12, in Waikiki and close all refuse facilities Sunday, November 13.            Bulky waste items will not be collected in Waikiki Saturday, Nov. 12. However, bulky waste items will be collected Tuesday, Nov. 15. Bulky items should be placed curbside on the evening of Monday, Nov. 14.            All transfer stations, convenience centers and Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill will be closed all day Sunday, Nov. 13.  Refuse facilities will be opened during normal business hours Nov. 12 and 14.            APEC barricades and road closures prompted revisions to the refuse schedules.  For more information, logon to www.opala.org/solid_waste/APEC_disruptions.html.     -30-     Contact:  Markus Owens, ENV Public Communications Officer, 768-3454
