LANDFILL, REFUSE CENTERS CLOSED SUNDAY, APRIL 3   (Sat., April 2, 2011) – The City's Department of Environmental Services (ENV) will close Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill, convenience centers along with Keehi and Kawailoa transfer stations to all public and private vehicles Sunday, April 3.               Only Kapaa Transfer Station will remain open on Sunday.               The landfill is awaiting approval from both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the state Department of Health to access recently repaired portions of the waste cell damaged during the January 13 storm.               The landfill will reopen to City and private vehicles Monday, April 4.
