FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tuesday, January 20, 2015 Media Contact: Markus Owens, ENV Public Information Officer, 768-3454 HONOLULU The City & County of Honolulu's Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is honoring numerous volunteers with its Good Neighbor and Environmental Hero Award Ceremony Thursday, January, 22, 2015, at McCoy Pavilion. Deputy Managing Director Georgette Deemer and ENV Director Lori Kahikina will speak at the presentation, which begins at 2:30 p.m. The event recognizes volunteers and partners who have made significant contributions to the city's Storm Water Quality outreach programs including the Adopt-A-Block, Adopt-A-Stream and Storm Drain Marking volunteer initiatives. More than 70 groups and individuals will be honored at the event. Honorees have shown tremendous leadership and long-term commitments as a watershed partner to protect our waters by keeping our streams and neighborhoods clean, and marking storm drains with 'No Dumping Drains to Ocean' reminders. -END- |
