FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, October 20, 2014 Media Contact: Markus Owens, ENV Public Information Officer, 768-3454 ENV Sponsoring Numerous Cleanups This Weekend HONOLULU The Department of Environmental Services (ENV) Storm Water Quality Branch is sponsoring numerous cleanups this Saturday, October 25, as part of National Make A Difference Day. Mercy Worldwide is coordinating the Manoa Adopt-A-Stream cleanup from 7:30 to noon. For more information, volunteers should call 769-6010. Weinberg Village is hosting the Kahawai Adopt-A-Stream cleanup from 9-11:30 a.m. Volunteers can call 259-6658 or 259-6076. The Kawa Adopt-A-Stream runs from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers can contact Koren Uyemura at 741-6421 for more information. The Mililani Lions Club is conducting the Mililani Adopt-A-Block from 8-10 a.m. Contact Ronald Miyagi at 352-9718 for more details. E Ola Ma Kapolei is hosting the Kapolei Community Cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers may call 545-3228, ext. 34 on how to get involved. Malama Maunalua is running the Hahaione Adopt-A-Stream cleanup from 9-11 a.m. Those wishing to participate may call 395-5050. The Ala Moana Lions Club is hosting the McKinley Adopt-A-Block cleanup around the high school. To volunteer, contact David Komori at 839-2861. ENV partners with businesses, schools, public officials, the state and military organizations. The cleanups provide educational materials on reducing trash. Participants should dress to get dirty and bring the following: water, hat, old covered shoes and sunscreen. All participants must sign a release form to participate.
