| Wednesday, July 16, 2014 Contact: Mayor Caldwell's Press Office, 768-5768 Update on repair work at intersection of Hamakua Drive and Kailua Road Kailua – A contractor hired by the city continues to work around-the-clock repairing the sinkhole created Friday, July 11, at the intersection of Kailua Road and Hamakua Drive. The work is expected to continue through the weekend as crews excavate and repair a damaged sewer line. Motorists can anticipate delays due to lane closures associated with the work. Signs have been posted on Pali Highway before Quarry Road and before the Castle Hospital intersection alerting motorists of the construction Drivers may want to consider taking an alternative route to Kailua by proceeding east on Kalanianaole Highway at Castle Junction and north on Keolu Drive into Kailua. -END- |
