CITY SETS ALA MOANA TOD COMMUNITY WORKSHOP (Fri., August 3, 2012) The Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) will hold the first of three community workshops for residents and businesses to create the Ala Moana Neighborhood Transit-Oriented Development Plan. The workshop is set for Tuesday, August 7, from 6-8 p.m. in the McKinley High School Cafeteria. Light refreshments will be provided. A rail transit station is planned next to the The Ala Moana neighborhood is a vibrant, growing community with several major projects being contemplated, such as the redevelopment of the Central YMCA, new housing towers, and a Korean architecture-based " Community participation is key to a successful transit-oriented development plan. DPP is seeking a diverse set of community members to share their ideas, priorities, as well as concerns, in putting together a comprehensive plan that lays out the foundation for improvements in the area.
