CITY SETS ALA MOANA TOD COMMUNITY WORKSHOP (Fri., August 3, 2012) — The Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) will hold the first of three community workshops for residents and businesses to create the Ala Moana Neighborhood Transit-Oriented Development Plan. The workshop is set for Tuesday, August 7, from 6-8 p.m. in the McKinley High School Cafeteria. Light refreshments will be provided. A rail transit station is planned next to the The Ala Moana neighborhood is a vibrant, growing community with several major projects being contemplated, such as the redevelopment of the Central YMCA, new housing towers, and a Korean architecture-based " Community participation is key to a successful transit-oriented development plan. DPP is seeking a diverse set of community members to share their ideas, priorities, as well as concerns, in putting together a comprehensive plan that lays out the foundation for improvements in the area.
