FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                           November 30, 2011     MAKIKI MELE KALIKIMAKA CANCELLED   (Wed., Nov. 30, 2011)—The Makiki District Park staff regretfully announces its holiday event, Makiki Mele Kalikimaka, a community Christmas celebration, scheduled for this Saturday, December 3, 2011, from 10 – 11 a.m., has been cancelled.  Recent vandalism to the park, located at 1527 Keeaumoku Street, has affected the major electrical infrastructure to the facilities.                The district park's recreation staff expressed disappointment for the cancellation and regrets any inconvenience to residents, but looks forward to hosting this event next year.                For more information, contact Susan Yamasaki, Makiki Complex Supervisor, at 522-7084.   -30-
