TRAFFIC ALERT:  ALA MOANA BOULEVARD SEWER LINE REHABILITATION WORK TO BEGIN   (Fri., Apr. 8, 2011) – The City's Department of Environmental Services announced today that starting Monday, April 11, 2011, City-contracted Insituform Technologies, Inc., will begin work to rehabilitate sewer lines along Ala Moana Boulevard between Keawe Street and Ward Avenue.            The scope of the work consists of the "trenchless" cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation of 1,400 lineal feet of an existing 69-inch diameter sewer line located in the Diamond Head-bound lanes of Ala Moana Boulevard, and 1,970 lineal feet of a 24-inch diameter sewer line located in the Ewa-bound lanes of Ala Moana Boulevard. In addition, a major temporary sewage bypass line will be constructed beginning on Ala Moana Boulevard just Diamond Head of Ward Avenue, running along Ilalo Street and ending at Keawe Street. Secondary temporary bypass lines will be laid above ground on Coral and Cooke streets between Ala Moana Boulevard and Auahi Street as well as at the intersection of Auahi Street and Ward Avenue.            Motorists should stay alert for police officers guiding traffic, lane restrictions and detours approaching the construction area and remember to stay in their lane within the construction area. In addition, please be aware of changing traffic patterns, slow moving construction vehicles and construction personnel. Besides the normal Monday to Friday work hours, weekend and 24-hour per day work may be required.            The anticipated completion date is August 1, 2011.
