02/19/15 Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve closed due to power outage Thursday, February 19, 2015 Mayor Caldwell's Press Office: 768-5768 (cell 489-0341) Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve closed due to power outage Honolulu – Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve was closed today at 2:05 p.m. due to a power outage.  Power to the preserve was lost at approximately 1:35 p.m. and staff has been working with Hawaiian Electric to restore power.  The lack of power is also affecting the upper park area (cashiers, reception, education, gift shop, restrooms), so the whole park is now closed.  An update will be issued as soon as power is restored and Hanauma Bay can be reopened.  - END -
