FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, November 3, 2014 Media Contact: Markus Owens, ENV Public Information Officer, 768-3454 ENV sponsoring cleanups in Kalihi, Kailua this Saturday HONOLULU – The Department of Environmental Services (ENV) Storm Water Quality Branch is sponsoring cleanups in Kalihi and Kailua this Saturday, November 8, as part of Make A Difference Month. Kamehameha Middle School is hosting the Kalihi Adopt-A-Stream and Adopt-A-Block cleanup. The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon. For more information, contact Lisa Akana at 843-3476. The Kailua Adopt-A-Block is coordinated by the Huakailani School and is a one-hour cleanup starting at 9 a.m. For more information, volunteers should contact Caitlin Tillotson at 927-8005. ENV partners with businesses, schools, public officials, the state and military organizations. The cleanups provide educational materials on reducing trash. Participants should dress to get dirty and bring the following: water, hat, old covered shoes and sunscreen. All participants must sign a release form to participate.
