June 13, 2014 Mayor Caldwell's press office: 768-5768 Three street events to affect Waikiki and Downtown traffic this weekend Honolulu The Department of Transportation Services (DTS) would like to inform the public about three street events that will affect traffic in Waikiki and Downtown this weekend, Friday evening through Sunday. Motorists are asked to avoid affected areas at the times indicated below. Transit riders should contact TheBus website (www.thebus.org) for detours. Friday: Pan-Pacific Matsuri Waikiki Ho'olaulea Tomorrow, Friday, June 13, 2014, Kalakaua Avenue from Lewers Street to Kaiulani Avenue will be partially closed beginning at 4:30 p.m. and completely closed from 5:30 p.m. through midnight for the Pan-Pacific Matsuri Waikiki block party. Saturday: King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade On Saturday, June 14, 2014, the following streets will be closed for the King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
Intersecting streets along the parade route will also be closed as the parade passes. Roads will reopen as the parade units clear the area. Sunday: Pan-Pacific Matsuri Waikiki Parade On Sunday, June 15, 2014, Kalakaua Avenue from Saratoga Road/Fort DeRussy to Queen Kapiolani Park will be closed from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the Pan-Pacific Matsuri Waikiki Parade. Intersecting streets along the parade route will also be closed as the parade passes. Roads will reopen as parade units clear the area. -END- |
