FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                             October 3, 2012     HALAWA COMPLEX HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST             The City's Department of Parks and Recreation will host the 2012 Halawa Complex Halloween Costume Contest on Friday, October 26, at Halawa District Park, 99-795 Iwaiwa Street.  About 100 children are anticipated to compete for prizes.             There will be five age groups: two years and under; three to four years; kindergarten to first grade; second to third grade; and fourth to sixth grade.  Registration will be held from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. and costume judging will begin shortly thereafter.  Each contestant will receive a goodie bag and participate in the "Trick 'O Treat Lane."   The Halloween Costume Contest is presented each year by the employees and volunteers of the Department of Parks & Recreation's Halawa Complex, comprised of Fern Community Park, Halawa District Park, Moanalua Community Park and the Moanalua Pool.  For more information call 483-7852 or 483-7850.     -30-
