REPORTING POSSIBLE TERRORIST ACTIVITY   (Fri., September 2, 2011)—While there are no credible threats at this time, the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) is reminding the public that suspicious or terrorist-related activity should be reported to the HPD.               In an emergency, anyone witnessing suspicious activity should call 911 and not confront the person or persons directly.  Nonemergency information may be reported by telephone at 225-5473 (CALL HPD) or online (www.honolulupd.org) by clicking on the Suspicious Activity Form.  In all cases, include as much information as possible; time, date, location, and nature of the activity as well as suspect and vehicle descriptions.  Your personal contact information is optional.                Potential terrorist targets include government buildings, financial institutions, critical infrastructure (such as power plant and water reservoirs), and areas where large crowds gather.  Suspicious activity could include photographing or videotaping facilities; asking security-related questions; and purchasing or possessing large amounts of chemicals, explosives, or weapons.                         For additional information, please go to www.honolulupd.org or call the HPD's Antiterrorism Intelligence Unit at 529-3151.   -hpd-
